Making Artificial Clouds

This is an awesome project for a photo shoot, a kids party or maybe just for a room decoration...
IMG_4625
So how do you make a cloud?
You will need:
  • Tape
  • Latex Balloons
  • Glue (water and flour)
  • Adhesive Spray
  • Newspaper
  • Pillow stuffing
  • Patience.
1. Cover your work surface with a big sheet.
2. Tape as many blown-up balloons together as you like, to form your perfect cloud.
3. Make your Glue by mixing up a big batch paste of water and flour and whisk until smooth.

4. Gather up lots of newspaper and tear into thick shreds. Dip shreds into the paste, removing excess paste as you lift from bowl, and smooth all over the balloons, until they are fully covered.

Allow to dry completely. (This can take up to 24 hours).
5. Next, cover the clouds with pillow stuffing (polyester fiber). To do so, use a spray adhesive, and spray little sections at a time, and adhere little bunch by bunch of the stuffing. Repeat, again and again, until the cloud is all covered.

And just like that, a cloud is born... no need of science.

Chocolate Bowls!

Summer is just around the corner and here's a yummy idea to serve
ice cream, fruit, yogurt or even jello!

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

    • Blow up the balloons, inflating them only to the point that the bottom of the balloon will be the perfect size for a chocolate cup. Gently wash the balloons with warm water and let them dry completely (to avoid seizing the chocolate with little drops of water). Set the balloons aside.

    • Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl in the microwave, taking care not to overheat the chocolate or it will seize and harden. If you want to avoid the white “blooming” lines that can appear in dried chocolate, reserve about 2 tablespoons of un-melted chocolate and stir it into the warm, melted chocolate until all the chocolate bits are melted and smooth. This is a quick way to temper chocolate.
    • Take a balloon and press it into the chocolate so the chocolate comes about 1/3 of the way up the balloon. Set the balloon on a lined baking sheet to dry. Once all the balloons have been dipped, allow the chocolate to set in a cool location. Don’t discard the chocolate until you have removed the balloons from the cups, in case there is any breakage that can be repaired. Once the chocolate has set, bring the trays of balloons to room temperature and let them sit for 5 minutes or so. You don’t want the chocolate to soften too much, but you want to take the chill off a little bit.
    • Carefully snip a tiny cut in the top of the balloon, holding on to the balloon, and avoiding a huge cut (this could cause the chocolate to shatter). The goal is slow and easy here. Let the balloon gently deflate. When it has released all the air, gently press the bottom of the balloon while peeling the balloon away from the chocolate. Again slow and easy. If you use your fingers to press down on the balloon while peeling it away from the edge, it will help the process.
    • Once the balloon is completely removed, store the chocolate cups in a cool location until ready to use. If a chocolate cup (or ten) ends up with a hole in the bottom, never fear. Simply dollop a small spoonful of leftover chocolate over the hole and let it set.
    • Now add whatever you feel like having and enjoy!

    Number & Letter Foil Balloons

Numbers and Letters have arrived and are online!

These Number and Letter shaped Foil Balloons can be used for all sorts of things from birthdays to new year celebrations.

These simply look stunning.  Right now available in gold and measuring a colossal 34” inches, these balloons are sure to add a ‘WOW’ factor to your event.

     Foil Balloons

Spell out names, celebration or even messages. You can also say it with number balloons, they are ideal for decorating birthdays, graduations, exhibition stands etc.

The balloons can be filled with helium to float and attached to weights to keep in place.  These foil balloons will float with helium for several days but thanks to the built-in self-sealing valve, they can be ‘refilled’ if necessary.

If you need a long-lasting display, here's a little trick by simply filling the balloons with air and suspend them using the clever little tabs at the top of the balloons and attach ribbon or nylon line. This way, the balloons will stay inflated (but not afloat) for many weeks!

So next time, why not consider using giant foil letter balloons?

    DIY Confetti Balloons

Planning a party or giving a surprise this weekend? Well there's a fun way to celebrate or pop the news to friends and family.

The enjoyment of trapping a balloon full of confetti will never get old. It’s fun to watch the recipient get spooked by a popping balloon, covered in confetti inside!

    Tips for the Confetti Balloons…
    Materials:
    - latex balloons
    - colorful confetti
    - helium
    balloon string
    - streamers (optional)

Spread the fun in all the colors you love.

    Steps:
First add a small amount of colorful confetti into each balloon and fill with helium. You can take your confetti balloons to a regular grocery store or you can have them done at an actual balloon shop and they can filled them up with helium.

To make it a little more festive, tie with streamers and foil colored balloon string.

There are other ideas like trapping money inside a balloon instead of handing a gift money in a card...

Let your creativity take control and have fun while in the process.
